Who is Behind Dentures101?
Dentures 101 isn’t a corporate site created to sell products or services.
It was founded by Dr. Dan Holtzclaw, a board-certified dental specialist with more than 25 years of clinical experience. He previously served as Chief Clinical Officer for one of the largest dental service organizations in the United States, overseeing more than 400 clinics – including some of the busiest denture providers in the world.
About Dan Holtzclaw, DDS, MS
Dr. Dan Holtzclaw is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Periodontology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Over the course of his career, he has performed more than 15,000 full-mouth implant procedures, authored two of the dental industry’s best-selling surgical textbooks, and published more than 60 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
He has delivered over 300 podium lectures worldwide, trained thousands of clinicians, and pioneered multiple new implant techniques. For 20 consecutive years, Dentistry Today Magazine has named him a “Leader in Continuing Dental Education.”

The answer is simple: after treating tens of thousands of patients, I realized many were making life-changing decisions without solid information. The problem is, most of what they find is confusing, discouraging, or flat-out wrong.
When I searched online myself, I was shocked at how little accurate information there was about dentures. Forums had plenty of chatter, but most of it was anecdotal or even dangerous advice. That’s not good enough.
That’s why I created Dentures 101. My goal is to give denture wearers clear, science-backed answers they can trust. I spent more than a year researching dentures and combined that work with 25+ years of clinical experience to write The Denture Wearer’s Handbook: Answers to the Top 50 Questions about Life with Dentures.
